A vital member of the team at Gary Manuel Salon since 1985, Michelle does a lot of color – “especially corrective color,” she says, “because I love solving problems.” Intimately aware of the time constraints faced by busy professionals, Michelle works quickly and has a gift for designing fashionable, yet, easy-to-manage styles.

In addition to serving a devoted list of clients, this exceptionally fashionable and skillful stylist has worked for 15 years as an instructor in the Salon’s advanced training programs. She is also the leader of the salon’s team-mentor program.

Michelle is in the Salon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of the time, she’s more likely to be playing with her children, riding horses or building her collection of mid-century modern furniture.

Her fees are $90 for haircuts, $100 for haircolor, $170 for dimensional foil haircolor, $650 for Japanese thermal straightening & $350 for keratin relaxers.

I love the Gary Manuel Salon. The staff at the reception desk are professional, friendly and always helpful. Everyone at the salon provides a great environment. I love going there. I also love my hairstylist, Michelle. I know from painful experience with other hairstylists that my hair is not easy to cut. I went to Michelle after another stylist at a different salon massacred my hair. Michelle was warm, understanding, and quickly gained my confidence with her straight forward honesty. She performed magic!

I have seen Michelle many times since. She always manages to find different cuts that work for my hair so that I am not stuck with the same look. She is also a goddess when it comes to hair color, including highlights and lowlights. Michelle is passionate about her work and it shows in the results.

Sometimes I am really adamant about trying a new cut that is way out of character for me. The cut was beautifully executed and I would live with it for about a week. Unfortunately, I would then decide that I did not like the look on me – she warned me. No worries thou, all I ever have to do is tell Michelle that I am not thrilled with it. After asking a few questions about what I did not like, she has me stop by to fix it! No charge even thou it wasn’t her fault. She did exactly what I asked for.

I would be really upset to have to change to another stylist â€¦. In fact I suspect at least for the first appointment I would not like anything about them … but then if they had Michelle’s talent and wamth, I would come around …. good news is I don’t need to try a new stylist.

Michelle is one of the most talented hair colorists that I have ever worked with. She keeps up with latest techniques by going to shows/trainings/ect and I know this because I’ve missed her a few times when she was gone. Having know Michelle for several years I know how incredibly dedicated to her work, she is. I know that if that young lady that ”didn’t like” her hair was to let Michelle know that ….Michelle would do everything to make sure it was changed in a manner that left her feeling good. I have been a client at the Gary Manual Salon for over 20 years. I love the salon, I love the people there. It is like visiting friends when ever I go in. Michelle has been my hair stylist for over 15 years and I can not imagine seeing someone else. One of the things I love about Michelle is her eye for detail. I will think we are finished and she will stop and fix some small detail I never even noticed. I also love Michelle’s ability to create a color that looks natural. In response to a previous comment about her not caring about new clients… Pshaw! I must have sent her a dozen referrals over the years, all of whom had the same positive experience.

If you’re looking for a hairdresser who puts on a show and acts like an obsequious servant (e-e-w-w-w-w) go elsewhere. But if you want someone who cares about what you want, knows her stuff, and on whom you can rely, be glad you found her.

I have seen Michelle the last 8 years and totally get why she wins awards for her work – the compliments I receive on my color and my cut are always so nice to hear – she knows what she is doing, loves what she does, cares about me and how I feel about the outcome and always delivers. I would be afraid to leave her and try someone new – I rely on her so much for consistently meeting my expectations. I wouldn’t dream of leaving her for a different stylist. Plus she’s just a warm, caring, vivacious, funny person who makes my experience at Gary Manuel positive every time. I saw the review from the person who did not have a good experience and it’s too bad – this way of expressing dissatisfaction is unfortunate in that it in no way reflects how much Michelle really does care. Michelle has been doing my hair for at least 20 years. From the crazy do’s in the mid 80′s to the subtle styles people favor today, Michelle has done a flawless job. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and I cherish the times I can come in to get a haircut. When I leave the salon I feel radiant, from the moment I sit down Michelle is amazing. Her expertise in cut and color blows me away, and I would never get my hair done anywhere else, even if you paid me. Once the treatment is done her knowledge goes even farther, the products she recommends are unbelievable. Let me start off by saying, as a first time client at Gary Manuel i was treated with the up most respect. The salon gives off a very calm and soothing vibe.

I went to this salon for the Hair Relaxer Treatment. Mind you, my hair is extremely curly.

This relaxer is supposed to take out 80% of the curl, and it exceed 80% when i got it done.

I rarely straighten my hair, and my curls are now waves.

Michelle Bostick did a very good job, the treatment worked and i highly recommened it.

Busy meetings, blackberry in hand: she was OK ( smiled knowingly, actually) with all of it…..all the while rescuing my hair from the lifeless condition that I was in before I walked in the door of the salon. Keratin Smoothing Infusion an all conditioner based relaxer taking out frizz and curl left my hair with body, shine and softness. Having tried chemical based straighteners before with poor results, I highly recommend seeing Michelle Bostick for this amazing treatment. Add this to being an ”Alchemist” with color, and a stitch to work with…and oh yeah – if you need a recommendation or referral for something entirely different – she has an extensive network she readily shares.

I just read a really surprising review about Michelle. She has been cutting my hair for years, not to mention making sure I stay current and modern. I cannot tell you how many times I have been stopped by women asking where I get my hair cut. One woman asked to take my picture so she could duplicate the cut! In the middle of a grow out from very short hair, just recently I was stopped in Seattle and the woman commented on my ”great haircut and color”-now that is a statement!! I have recommended dozens of friends and each and every time they have been more than thrilled. She is really responsive to lifestyle, hair type and has kept up with her training using the most updated cutting techniques.
I’ve known Michelle longer than my kids and aside from her amazing talent, she is an incredible person.

It could be the woman who wrote the review was in the wrong salon-I will say they won’t let you leave looking like you are from the wrong decade. It sounds like she was pretty set in her ways. If she was that unsatisfied with the quality, she should have gone back. Finding a new hairdresser is like a new relationship…
