A vibrant member of the Gary Manuel Salon team since September 2006, Opal began working at the Salon fresh from her training at Gary Manuel Aveda Institute (GMAI) because, as she puts it, “I have a passion for hair and knew I needed more training to become the stylist I want to be!” In addition to her work as a hair dresser, Opal helped with a fashion shoot that appeared in the September 2008 edition of Seattle Magazine. She will begin working as a cadet instructor in 2009.

“I’m picky about my own work,” says Opal, “so I take a lot of time with every client,” an approach she believes helps to explain why her customers keep coming back. “I treat my clients like friends, and I care a lot about them.” Working with people provides great satisfaction, and Opal believes the key to a great hair design is making the person wearing it feel like a million bucks. “I absolutely love working with the best people Seattle has to offer – my clients and fellow hairdressers. I love doing new and different things on every client – even if it’s a small change. I like people to take a second look at my designs and say, ‘Oh, wow!’” A Seattle native, her hobbies include cooking, karaoke, and reading, as well as singing and playing guitar in an all girl punk rock band.

Opal is available Tuesdays through Saturdays and can be reached at 206.728.1234, extension 2752. Her fee for a haircut is $55, $75 for single process hair color, $140 for multi-dimensional foil hair color, $50 for a blow-out, $50 for makeup, and Keratin Straightening treatments starting at $300.
