Vanessa began working with Gary Manuel
Salon in 2000 and was hired as the Assistant Salon
Leader in 2008. Between 2000 and 2005, she was a member of the Salon’s
leadership team, and she has held a variety of positions
with the Salon, including Retail Coordinator and Guest Service
Manager. As a licensed cosmetologist, Vanessa worked
for other local salons as a hairdresser.
Vanessa believes Gary Manuel is the best salon in Seattle,
whether you want a great hairdo, to challenge yourself
as a hairdresser, or to greatly enjoy your work environment. “The
opportunity for growth at Gary Manuel as a non-stylist
is unmatched, and I value the creative environment
that the stylists have around them – makes for
an interesting and fun day, everyday!” she says. Vanessa
is also interested in pursuing the Washington state
instructor training and licensing available through
the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute (GMAI).
Getting to know the Salon’s clients provides
great satisfaction for Vanessa, who believes the most
valuable lesson she has learned at Gary Manuel Salon
is to be involved. To stay involved beyond the Salon,
Vanessa volunteers with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Puget Sound
Affiliate, where she helps to raise funds and awareness. “Change and
progress will always happen, and it's great to have
a hand in it and to promote it.”
