OUR FOUNDERS
Gary Howse and Manuel Benevich joined forces in 1979 to create an urban salon founded on the principles of excellence, giving back, and extensive stylist training. These values have sustained the company for nearly 50 years in creating Seattle's best stylists and services.
OUR STYLISTS
Everyone on our team at the Stylist level and above has completed our comprehensive training program, so our guests receive beautiful results and personalized care. New Talent stylists are still in the program, adding services as they pass each exam.
While each stylist has specialties, everyone who has completed the program does both haircuts and hair color.
Amy

Amy is the Color Director at Gary Manuel Salon. A licensed instructor since 2005, she has taught at an Aveda Institute, Graeber Salon and in our salon's Advanced Training Program.
She is a blonding specialist focusing on blonde highlights and platinum blondes. Amy also enjoys advanced hair color placement and cutting short to medium length hair, and transforming fine hair.
In her free time Amy loves to downhill ski and travel to warm destinations. She is also obsessed with live music, especially electronic dance music.

Lindsey is the Artistic Director for Gary Manuel Salon and also leads our Texture Team. She is a Guest Artist for Aveda and a member of their North American Artistic Cutting Team. She has also attended classes with various brands including Aveda, Vidal Sassoon and Deva Curl.
In 2026, Lindsey won the Men's Collection for North America at Behind the Chair's One Shot Global Hair Awards and the American Beauty Vision Award for Barber Stylist of the Year.
She is inspired by fashion, music, and art. Since 2007 she has worked back stage at NYFW and has been featured in Vogue, ELLE, American Salon, Seattle Bride, and Modern Salon.

Back in high school, my side hustle was doing hair and makeup for school dances, and I loved every second of it. Although I spent some time working in healthcare, I realized my heart was always in cosmetology. This pushed her to find a career that could fulfill the desire to help others with bold self expression.
As an adult, Luka pursued her passion for cosmetology and entered beauty school. She is now located at Gary Manuel Salon and works hard to provide an unforgettable experience for every person who sits in her chair. Luka stands by a good hair moisturizer and encourages unlimited self expression with hairstyles. She finds the most joy from seeing a client fully satisfied with their service.
When she is not at the salon, Luka enjoys calm pastimes such as drawing, listening to music, sewing, cooking, reading, or educating herself on the history of fashion trends. Lina is a Seattle native starting her career at Gary Manuel Salon.
Fueled by a fascination with art and science, Lina transformed her love for people into a career in Cosmetology with one goal in mind: to make people feel seen, special, and cared for in her chair.
Her desire for continuous self-improvement and learning drew her to Gary Manuel's intensive training program with the goal to become the very best version of herself.
She loves to create a good layered cut, or transform a canvas through techniques such as balayage. With a strong focus on scalp care and year-round moisture, Lina believes great hair starts at the foundation, and should feel as good every day as it does leaving the salon.
Outside of the salon, Lina throws herself into music appreciation and adoration of nature. A perfectly relaxing evening for her consists of nothing but a good tv show and cuddles with her puppy, Leo.
Lina believes communication to be the utmost important quality in a hair care service, and will strive to bring your hair vision to life. If you're interested in meeting her, she's taking clients now.

Lina is a Seattle native starting her career at Gary Manuel Salon.
Fueled by a fascination with art and science, Lina transformed her love for people into a career in Cosmetology with one goal in mind: to make people feel seen, special, and cared for in her chair.
Her desire for continuous self-improvement and learning drew her to Gary Manuel's intensive training program with the goal to become the very best version of herself.
She loves to create a good layered cut, or transform a canvas through techniques such as balayage. With a strong focus on scalp care and year-round moisture, Lina believes great hair starts at the foundation, and should feel as good every day as it does leaving the salon.
Outside of the salon, Lina throws herself into music appreciation and adoration of nature. A perfectly relaxing evening for her consists of nothing but a good tv show and cuddles with her puppy, Leo.

Kylee was raised in New Jersey and has been familiar with hair salons since she was a little girl.
Her mother went to get her hair done every three weeks and Kylee always tagged along. As she grew up, she developed a love for the environment in hair salons and decided to pursue her own career as a stylist.
At Gary Manuel Salon, Kylee focuses on blowouts, fun fashion hair colors and foils as well as making sure the final touches for a client are remarkable. Her area of expertise includes straight hair and curly hair types. For clients, Kylee’s go-to advice is to keep a hair brush in your bag if deciding to wear your hair down.
When Kylee is not at the salon, she enjoys trying new foods at different locations, reality tv shows and self care routines.
